Community Service

As part of the Greater Mankato community, we recognize and embrace the importance of giving back to those in need to make our community stronger. Whether cleaning up trash along the highway, clearing leaves from yards, walking shelter dogs, or helping make the move-in process a little easier for new students, we're happy to help whenever and wherever.

Here are just a few of the many, many ways we've given back:

Mankato Marathon (Fall 2017)

We had the opportunity to support runners of the Fall 2017 Mankato Marathon. It was a cold day to start but eventually warmed up as most runners were finishing.

Adopt-A-Highway (Spring 2017)

We were fortunate enough to have great weather for the Adopt-A-Highway cleaning for this semester! Thank you Brother Frannson scheduling the day!

Adopt-a-highway (fall 2016)

Since 1991, we've been cleaning mile markers 136 and 137 of Highway 14 between Mankato and Eagle Lake. Twice a year, we forge the elements to make our environment a little bit cleaner. Never stopped by snow, rain, mud, or snakes, we help make a difference for Minnesota drivers. And we look darn good in reflective vests!

Fire and Ice Ball (Fall 2015)

In the beginning of December, several Brothers helped put on the first annual Fire and Ice Ball benefiting Greater Mankato United Way. The Brothers did various activities ranging from set up, coat check, butlering food and clean-up.

echo food shelf (Spring 2015)

In April, we had Brothers help out at ECHO Food Shelf by packaging and putting food items on shelves for families to collect. ECHO serves approximately 1,620 households and had distributed 103,000 lbs of food to families in Blue Earth County and the Mankato area.

American Red cross blood drive (spring 2015)

Every spring the Epsilon Iota Chapter sponsors a blood drive on the MSU Mankato campus. Brothers as well as students, faculty and university employees take time out of their day to donate and give back to those in need.

Rake the Town (Fall 2012)

Every fall, we help citizens of Mankato and North Mankato who are unable to remove the leaves from their yards. It's always a great workout and bonding experience. And who doesn't like playing in the leaves?

Stomper Move-Crew (Fall 2012)

Each year, hundreds of freshmen and their families prepare to undertake the daunting task of moving into the dorms. Truckloads of furniture, supplies, and mini-fridges invade MSU. Everything has to make it's way from parking lot to dorm room, and we're there to help! For the Fall 2012 semester, we helped with the Stomper Move-Crew and helped welcome all the new freshmen to our campus.
